New Consulting Resources in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Transportation Consulting
ITC Experts is pleased to announce the addition of three new staff members: Mr. Michael Rogers, P.E., Mr. Aaron Jones, P.E., and Dr. James Salmon, Ph.D., P.E. Mike, Aaron, and Jim join Dr. John Meyer to form the core of ITC Experts’ Materials and Mechanical Engineering and Transportation Practice Areas. All four of these individuals bring their unique, yet complimentary, set of skills and experience to ITC Experts in the area of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, focusing on various aspects of technical work related to vehicles, machinery, and other types of component design and failure analysis. Each has developed a strong presence in their areas of expertise, which offers clients a one-stop source to meet all of their needs in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, all manner of vehicles, and a broad range of machinery and consumer products. Mr. Rogers brings 26 years of consulting engineering experience in engineering activities involving various types of vehicles and transportation related equipment as well as activities involving machine design and mechanical systems evaluations, and accident reconstruction and analysis of vehicles and equipment utilized either on-highway or off-highway including material handling and construction related applications. Mr. Jones provides technical consultation in the areas of failure analysis, accident investigation, and reconstruction, diesel and automotive engines, all types of vehicular components, fasteners, firearms, and appliances, vehicular components and vehicular structural analysis, design analysis, product testing, mechanical testing, fire cause analysis, consumer products, farm equipment, racing equipment, toys, vehicles, construction equipment, cranes, and rail cars. Dr. James Salmon has 23 years of experience in industry and 5 years of experience in engineering consulting. Dr. Salmon specializes in the investigation and analysis of consumer, military and industrial products and systems in the transportation, industrial and manufacturing environments. He specializes in the investigation of the performance of consumer products, or accidents involving products, vehicles, industrial and military equipment. Dr. Salmon investigates concerns relating to the mechanical design of parts, assemblies or systems, including the design, analysis, and test of products and systems. He specializes in the analysis of product trade secrets and has over 10 years of experience in product reverse engineering and the evaluation of reverse engineering activities. Meyer is responsible for accident investigation and reconstruction, failure analysis, mechanical system analysis, testing, computer-aided simulation and analysis and issues related to mechanical system failure for all types of vehicles, vehicle subsystems and components, accident scene documentation and surveying, and full-scale vehicle crash tests. He also has extensive experience and provides consulting in mechanical system analysis, modeling and analysis of dynamic systems, vibration analysis, control systems, stability analysis, mechanical design, optics, including vision and lighting issues related to vehicular accidents, contrast perception, visual conspicuity, photogrammetry, and image analysis, and human factors includes human perception and reaction, as well as operator behavior. John E. Meyer is responsible for accident investigation and reconstruction, failure analysis, mechanical system analysis, testing, computer-aided simulation and analysis and issues related to mechanical system failure. Dr. Meyer has experience in the investigation and reconstruction of accidents involving vehicles of all types, including on- and off-road vehicles, heavy equipment, lifts, cranes, ATVs, motororcycles, and bicycles; accident recreation and analysis through computer simulations; inspection, evaluation and testing of vehicle subsystems and components; accident scene documentation and surveying; and full-scale vehicle crash tests.
John E. Meyer also has expertise in mechanical system analysis, modeling and analysis of dynamic systems; vibration analysis; control systems, including dedicated computer control; stability analysis; and mechanical design. In addition, Dr. Meyer has experience in the area of optics, including vision and lighting issues related to vehicular accidents, contrast perception, visual conspicuity, photogrammetry, and image analysis. Steve Meyers, Don Knutson, Capt. J. Joseph, and Andy Faville are the core of an aviation concentration that covers all aspects of civil and commerical aircraft and helicopter airframes, powerplants, cockpit displays, human performance, materials, operation, piloting, maintenance, and repairs. This core group is augmented by other pilots and experts in structures and materials from academia and from industry. Services include accident investigation and reconstruction, failure analysis, and evaluations of materials, human performance, and all matters of intellectual property.
| Erv Schlepp Joins ITC as an Expert in Rotating Machinery, Plant Automation, and Sensors and Controls
ITC has substantially extended it capabilities with the addition of Erv Schlepp. Erv brings over 40 years of experience in electrical power, equipment design, plant automation, sensors and controls, and supervisory data acquisition and control (SCADA). Having served as President and co-founder of FLC Instruments, Erv has a long history and continues to design automation systems for gas pipelines, water and waste water treatment plants, and industrial equipment. He is broadly knowledgable with operation of process plants, water treatment plants, and gas pipelines, and is an expert on design and operation of automation systems, operator training, adequacy of manuals, and safety issues.

Jim Daniel, who is a well known and highly regarded expert in building technology, leads ITC's Building and Environmental Consulting (BEC) Division. BEC offers insurers, the legal community, builders, and owners top-notch consulting in the full range of problems that are encountered with all types of buildings - residential, retail, industrial, or commercial. Services include inspections, field testing such as for water intrusion, modeling and simulations, materials analysis, and guidance on remediation and restoration. BEC’s experience encompasses materials and installation issues such as with exterior finishing systems and roofing systems, water penetration due to hurricanes, construction practices and job site safety, insurance investigation, litigation expert witness support, and consulting for builders and owners.

Each practice area has its own web site that is customized to the needs of its client base. Each site is self-contained, having descriptions of all of the technical disciplines and expers that contribute to that practice area to make it quick and easy for clients to find solutions to their specific problems.
